Feb 6 Monochrome
These photos are from the Feb 6 monochrome class. Students are allowed to stray from the assignment.
This design is using the block method. Each material is grouped together. The goal is to have the entire design be one contiguous surface. That surface should have a shape other than a ball.
1. This design is not fully integrated. The greens and roses are not evenly distributed. Part of the issue with the greens is the student did not have enough eucalyptus.
2. Student transformed the arrangement using the block method.1. The bottom is a little bare as you can see the stems near the mouth of the base.
1. Block method, the hypericum are forming a marching band down the center. This is providing movement throughout the arrangement.
2. Slight adjustment to alstromeria. Making there 2 blocks a little more pronounced.
2. Moved some of the tulips into the arrangement. Also deconstructed the soledego sprinkling it throughout the arrangement rather than having 1 large head.
I sometimes find that it is better to use less when playing with Tropicals. Here there are only 3 stems. The banana leaf and 2 heliconia. The leaf is providing some serious drama.
