Midollino

Midollino is a thin reed. You can buy it in a variety of colors, or you can dye it yourself. I used some of the orange ones I purchased. There actually two midillino nautilus in this arrangement.

My teacher loves to use it. I have only used it a few times. It is very dramatic. Because it is so dramatic I paired it with small flowers. This way they accented the midillino nautilus. Larger flowers would have hidden the midillino lines.

I need to work with it more with flowers to figure out how to incorporate it into a wide variety of arrangements.
